  16. Las Vegas Slots is an extremely realistic slot machine simulation. It is a very
  17. graphically interactive program with outstanding sound effects.  Each spin allows
  18. as much as 8 chances of winning and bets between $1 thru $8. The application
  19. will keep track of your winnings or losses and keep a running tally of your
  20. attempts. The jackpot will dynamically increases for each non-jackpot winning spin
  21. by $0.10 to $0.17 (depending on bet amount). Games in progress may be saved for
  22. later play.

  26. Requirements:

  29. - Windows 3.x or Windows 95

  31. - VBRUN300.DLL installed in your Windows/System directory. This file may already be
  32. in your system. Many other programs require this file. You may have received it already
  33. without knowing so. Otherwise, this file can be found almost anywhere where Windows
  34. software is available for downloading. Usually titled: VBRUN301.EXE

  40. - Run Install.exe using the RUN option from the file menu of Windows Program Manager or 
  41. double click on the Install.exe icon from the File Manager.

  43. - Follow the directions of the install program.

  46. Installation should have placed the following files in the identified directories:

  48. - lv_slots.exe in the install directory you specified.

  50. - lv_slots.txt in the same directory as the executable file.

  67. NOTE: In order for this application to work properly, it must be installed
  68. in a directory other than a root directory. For instance, installing it
  69. in the following directory will not be correct:  C:\   However, if it was
  70. installed into a sub-directory such as: C:\slots  Then it will work fine.

  74. Non-United States Windows Users
  75. =========================================
  76. V1.1 and lower would cause a "Type Mismatch" error for some people using non
  77. United Stated Versions of Windows. This problem appears to be fixed in V1.2.
  78. However, if you should come across this problem and are using Windows 95 or
  79. Windows 3.11 you will able to set your currency setting for United States.
  80. Therefore, alleviating the problem. Here's how:

  82. - Go to the 'Control Panel'
  83. - Load 'Regional settings' utility
  84. - Set the region to 'English (United States)'
  85. - Choose the 'Currency' option
  86.   The settings should be already configured correctly. Check to make sure the
  87.   following options are set-up:
  88. - Currency symbol = $
  89. - Position of Currency Symbol = *1.1
  90. - Negative Number Format = (*1.1)
  91. - Decimal Symbol = .
  92. - No. of Digits After Decimal = 2
  93. - Digit Grouping Symbol = ,
  94. - Number of Digits in Group = 3

  98. I'm not sure if Windows 3.0 or 3.1 users have an ability to configure their
  99. settings to allow Las Vegas Slots to function for users utilizing a non US
  100. version of Windows 3.x.

  107. - Las Vegas Slots is distributed as Shareware. The Author maintains all rights to the
  108. program in its entirety.

  110. - Las Vegas Slots may be distributed freely as long as the integrity of Shareware is
  111. maintained.

  113. - In the tradition of Shareware, the author grants a 30 day trial period to the user to
  114. decide whether they want to keep the program. If so, a $12.00 payment (Plus Shipping
  115. and handling. See order form in the HELP menu for details) is required. If not, then
  116. before the 30 days is up, you must delete the program from your system.

  186. would not be able to compute winnings/losses. Therefore, it would alert
  187. the users. Now, the problem is fixed.
